NANCHANG, China, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Mark Williams came from 3-0 down to beat Jack Lisowski 5-3 in the quarterfinals of the 2018 Snooker World Open held in Yushan County, Jiangxi Province, China.

"I just hung in there at 3-0 down because Jack was immaculate," said world No. 3 Williams. "Jack has been playing some great stuff and he's one of the players I love watching. His temperament is normally brilliant but that's the first time I have seen him let the emotions get to him."

The 43-year-old will face Thailand's Noppon Saengkham, who beat China's Xiao Guodong 5-1.

David Gilbert reached in the semifinals by beating Hong Kong's Marco Fu 5-3.

Breaks of 56 and 122 today helped Gilbert build a 4-1 lead. The 37-year-old missed two clear chances to finish the match in the next two frames, as Fu recovered to 4-3 with a top run of 93. But Gilbert dominated the eighth frame to book his place in the last four.

"I know how well Marco played yesterday so I'm really pleased to win," said Gilbert. "I have been completely gone for the last six months, but I have just enjoyed playing this week and I have would love to go a bit further."

Barry Hawkins upset Gary Wilson 5-3. Runs of 81, 52 and 54 helped world No. 7 Hawkins to a 4-1 lead. Wilson closed the gap to 4-3, but Hawkins finished the match with a break of 101. Enditem.
