YANGON, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- A trilateral peace talks between the Myanmar government, army and 10 ceasefired ethnic armed organizations (EAO) will take place in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday to continue resolve matters in existence through negotiation, the official Global New Light of Myanmar reported Friday.

The Peace Process Steering Team of the 10 EAO, which signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Accord (NCA) with the government, agreed to hold of the trilateral meeting in the capital following their own meeting held in Thailand's Chiangmai over the last few days.

The four-day trilateral talks, which also marks the third anniversary of the signing of NCA, are aimed at overcoming the bottle necks at various levels of political discussions, the EAO announcement said.

Following the October 2015 initiation of the NCA, Myanmar's 21st Century Panglong Peace Conferences were held thrice during the incumbent government in August 2016, May 2017 and July 2018 respectively.

The second session of the peace conference was able to incorporate a total of 37 adopted basic principles into the union accord as Part I in the country's peace process, while its third session adopted 14 more basic principles as Part II of the accord, bringing the total number incorporated into the union accord for peace to 51.

These agreed principles were signed by leaders of participant groups of the government, parliament, military, ceasefired ethnic armed groups and political parties.

Participants with the Panglong Peace Conference pledged to strive for formulating more firm fundamental principles for establishing a democratic and federal union by holding another session later this year and two more in 2019.
