PARIS, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shuttlers Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong claimed the mixed doubles title without conceding a game at the 2018 BWF French Open here on Sunday.

The top-ranked pair overcame South Korean Seo Seung Jae and Chae Yujung 21-19, 21-14 in the final.

After both pairs tied at 19-all, the Chinese duo snatched two points in a row following Seo's poor return.

The tussle continued into the second game at 7-all, before the world No. 1 pulled away with four straight points and bagged their back-to-back titles after the Denmark Open last week.

"I feel happy," said Zheng, who finished runners-up at both Denmark and French Open last year.

"We were mainly restrained by Chae in the first game, but I made adjustment later on," Zheng pointed out.

It is the eighth title of the year for Zheng and Huang, including the BWF World Championships and Asian Games.

"The results cannot say everything, but we have tried our best in every match. We need to do better in the future," said Zheng.

Despite the world champions and world top ranking in hand, the Chinese pair maintained a calm mindset.

"We have to go step by step. There are several competitions remaining this year, and we have to do well in these matches before thinking about something further," said Zheng, adding that the Tokyo Olympic Games has been in their mind.
