WINDHOEK, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Namibia men's football team the Brave Warriors coach Ricardo Mannetti has said on Friday that England based Namibian-born defender Ryan Nyambe, who plays club football in England for championship side Blackburn Rovers will fit in very well in his current Brave Warriors team, although he is yet to decide the position in which he will deploy Nyambe.

Nyambe decided to play for Namibia, although in the past he made it clear that he wanted to play for England, before he made the big call on March 12 that he had made up his mind to play for the country of his birth (Namibia).

Nyambe is the first and only Namibian to date to play club football in England for his side Blackburn Rovers who are in the second tier of English football that is below the English Premier League (EPL) in the Championship.

Blackburn is no stranger to Namibians who follows English football, with Blackburn being champions of England on three occasions and their memorable achievement as champions of England was in 1995 when they won the league.

Nyambe joined Blackburn Rovers at the age of 14 and after progressing through the club's youth ranks, he made his first team debut against Shrewsbury Town in the Capital One Cup in August 2015, aged 17.

A powerful and versatile defender, Nyambe cemented his place in the senior squad last season, making 28 appearances and starting every game under manager Tony Mowbray.

Nyambe (21) was born in Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi Region, northeast Namibia.
